April 21, 2026 Posted on April 21, 2026 Good morning, Huskies! Today is Tuesday, April 21st and we are on a working period schedule. St. Paul’s Church will be offering their grilled cheese lunch tomorrow at noon, and all of you are welcome! Big Brothers Big Sisters are doing a “Used Book Drive” for the month of April. If you have books that you would like to donate, please bring them into our Learning Commons (Library). There is a box for your donations. Are you a Gr.11 student interested in taking Co-op next year? There will be an information meeting today during Working Period in the theatre. Applications will be given out at the meeting. There is an Open House at NBCC this Friday. Grade 11 students are invited to sign up on the Guidance door to have a spot on the bus. We will be gone for P.1 and 2. Today is Total-Darkness Tuesday, so we’ll be cutting the lights for a period. I hope you brought flashlights, but keep in mind that candles and 1800’s oil lamps are still banned Tomorrow is Wear Green Day, as well as the Great Gulp. Remember to bring your water bottle — reusable, of course. Also, tomorrow we will be going outside to clean up trash, so I suggest that you wear something warm, like shorts or flip-flops. Ask your teacher for what time you’ll be going. On Thursday there will be a mending and sewing session at lunch hour. As for your Earth Day fact, Canada is home to 25% of the world’s remaining intact forests, making forest conservation a major theme for Canadian Earth Day events. Massive tree-planting initiatives often take place in April as the ground thaws in Southern regions. These efforts help protect the Boreal Forest, which acts as one of the world’s largest terrestrial carbon sinks Thursday is Students Dress Like Teachers Day. You could wear a suit, a tie, and a pair of slacks, you know, the whole 9 yards. Teachers can also dress like students on Thursday, so treat this like pajama day for teachers if you will. And the day we’ve been waiting for since year start, Wednesday the 29th, we’ll be hosting the first dance of the year. Keep your ears peeled for when tickets go on sale, they’ll be in the office soon. The theme of the dance is of course, spring. Ladies, you might wear a floral dress, and as for the Gents, you might consider light dress clothes. Sports: Congratulations to the JV Boys Volleyball team who won the Simonds tournament over the weekend. Tonight is Senior night for our volleyball teams. The Senior Girls will host St. Stephen at 6 and the Senior Boys will host St. Stephen at 7:45. Please come out and support our grads!
