Dec 8

Good morning, Huskies! Today is Monday, December 8th and we are on a regular schedule.

SRRC is hosting our annual “Toonies for Turkeys” fundraiser again this week. All proceeds go towards local families in need. Don’t forget to bring toonies to your 3rd period teacher this week. Thank you!

Are you a Grade 12 student planning to attend UNB? A recruiter will be at HHS on Tuesday during P.3 to help with entrance scholarship applications. There will be a signup sheet on the Guidance door. Bring your laptop to the meeting.

There will be a meeting about the upcoming coffeehouse tomorrow – Tuesday, December 9th in the music room at the beginning of lunch. All who are interested in helping out or performing should come!

SRRC – Ugly sweater day tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9th.

Forms for Ski and Snowboard club are due tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec 9th. If you have not returned yours yet or if you are interested in joining but need to fill out forms, please see Ms. McMackin today. Payments for Ski/Snowboard club are due on Dec. 15 on Cashless Schools.

Until Dec. 18, Develop and Lead students are collecting new socks, toques, mittens, and scarves to support the Rotary Box of Socks Campaign. This campaign was created after a member from the community spoke to someone experiencing homelessness and they said they really appreciate it when they can change their old soggy dirty socks out for some warm new ones. Please help fill the box in the learning commons with items to keep warm this winter.

Have you been wondering what our Spring Musical will be this year? The wait is almost over! Join us for a special information meeting in the theatre at lunch today, where we’ll officially reveal the show title and provide details about auditions. Whether you sing, dance, act, build, paint, or just want to try something new, everyone is welcome. Come find out what exciting production we’ll be bringing to the stage. Don’t miss the big reveal… see you today!

Campus Market:

Our first Snow Day of the school year is in the book and we got a bonus day due to water issues.  Last week was short, but good.

We, your teachers, your guides through the wilderness of academia, know you were disappointed those off days as Mr. Dunstan wasn’t able to shake you down for turkey toonies.  He is attempting to reclaim the title of head turkey from Mr. Cameron.

Have you seen the Toonies for Turkey’s trophy?  The resemblance between Mr. D and the plastic Thunder Chicken that adorns the top is remarkable.  Separated at birth?  Perhaps.

However, we digress.  To temper your disappointment that you didn’t have to empty your pockets, your friends in the entrepreneurship class have big, disappointment tempering news.  Campus Market 2-The Sequel Without Equal-is just two school days away.

If you only shop once this year, then you really should get out more often.

But, if you only shop once, we’ve got you covered.

Candles and candy are available.  Health Canada recommends only eating the candy.

3-D printed fidgets return.

Ornaments to adorn your holiday conifer are available.

Cookies and custom jewelry-again please only eat the former.

All this and more for you to score.

Save your toonies and tell Dinde Dunstan you’ll get him later, cause you need your polar bears for Wednesday.

See you at the market.

Sports:

The boys travelled over to Berwick Nova Scotia this weekend for the gator classic, they had a good tournament, unfortunately just barely missing their spot in the semi final game. The boys will host Rothesay high this Wednesday! If you want to watch some good hockey show up this Wednesday and support the fellas!
